Insider Class - Wrap Up Day

Today was the last day of the Insider class. I can't believe it's over already, such a short class... = (

I made this card for my last homework assignment. I didn't really use the techniques taught in today's class, but the instructors' cards triggered my idea.

I used a sheet of acetate as the card base and covered certain areas with various patterned paper (from Sn@p! Simple Stories, same as yesterday's card).

This cutie pie is Twirl Anya from the Greeting Farm.

The "Hello Life" came from a strip of patterned paper.

Insider Class - Day 3

Today's class was about adding a surprise to the inside of our cards. I finally found a way to use up some of my Sn@p! products and had a lot of fun putting this card together.

This card opens in the center. Happy B-Day is written on the inside of the card. Well, not written, I used Kelly Purkey's alphabet stickers.
I attached a piece of acetate to the shorter flap so the two flaps can overlap when the card is closed.

I covered the card front with patterned paper and then added washi tape on top. The mini Polaroids also came from the Sn@p! paper pack.

I added a pocket and a note card on the inside of the card. I also covered the interior of the card with patterned paper and then with washi tape.

Insider Class - Day 2

Day 2's homework is to make a card where the outside of the card ties to the inside of the card. I think I went a little over board with the interior but I had fun making and colouring the images. The image I used is Dorothy from Kraftin Kimmie, which is one of my all time favorite!

Materials used:
- Black and aqua cardstock (purchased at Michael's)
- Various Copic Markers
- Pattern paper (scraps in my stash)

MFT Sketch Challenge

Last night I made a card for the Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things... that's a mouth full... It is my first time joining a MTF challenge and my card had to be based on this sketch.

And this is the card I made.

I've never been a fan of doilies, because I've always thought of them as the sticky piece of paper stuck to the bottom of my afternoon tea snacks. When I first started seeing them on cards, I was a bit surprised.
I received some doilies in a card kit a while back and they've been laying in my embellishment drawer since. When I saw this week's sketch on MFT I thought of the doilies instantly.
At first I left the doily white, but it blended into the background and got lost. So I thought by adding some Distress Ink to it it would make it stand out more. It did the trick but I'm not sure I like the dirty-looking doily... I think I'm gonna need more practice incorporating doilies in my cards.

The images and sentiment on this card came from the DC Contempo Cage stamp set by My Favorite Things.

I stamped the little bird on a light pink pattern paper, the wings on a green pattern paper and paper pieced them together to give it some dimension.

Blue Raspberry Colour Challenge & Insider Class - Day 1 Homework.

This is the second card I created today and it has dual purposes. First as an entry for the Blue Raspberry Colour Challenge at the Greeting Farm Blog and second as a homework assignment for the Insider Online Card Class.

For the Blue Raspberry Colour Challenge we have to include berry, pink & blue/aqua colours in our cards. I used paper from the Simon Says July 2012 Card Kit, Alphabet Stickers by Kelly Perkey (from the Simon Says October 2013 Card Kit), and a few Enamel Dew Drop Stickers by Freckled Fawn (from the September Oh Deer Me Embellishment Kit). The image I used is the Hatter Bean from the Greeting Farm

For the Insider class we have to add interest to the inside of our cards. I decorated the inside of this card with the same pattern paper as the front. I also coloured the edges of a piece of white card stock using some Tattered Rose Distress Ink. I was so happy that the colour matched perfectly! ^_^

Simon Exclusive Challenge

I created this card for the Simon Exclusive Challenge. It is my first time entering a challenge by Simon Says and for this challenge we have to use an exclusive product made by their company. After going through my many SS products I picked the July 2012 Card Kit with the Absolutely Delightful stamp set. I love the colour scheme in this kit and I love how my card turned out.

Ombre Card

This is the last card I want to share tonight. I made it using some Hero Arts background stamps and stamp pads. (It was challenging for my camera to capture the true colours of the card...)

I was trying to create the ombre effect on the hexagon and chevron patterns and on the hearts. I also added some Star Dust Stickles for some sparkles.

Miss You

I recently subscribed to the new Oh Deer Me embellishment kits and the September kit came with a cute stamp set. I used it to make this card. It's a 3"x4" mini card that simply says Miss You.

I Wuf You

I created these cards using the other new Tiddly Inks stamp set I purchased, called I Wuf You. I can't get over how adorable the images are!
